Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) has established a special task force mandated to ensure airspace security during the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) and High-Level Forum for Multi-Stakeholder Partnership (HLF MSP) in Bali Province.

According to the air force's press release cited here on Monday, the special task force, led by Commander of Air Operations Command II Air Commodore Budhi Achmadi, consists of sub-task forces of airspace security law enforcement, air mobilization, and special air services.

"Each of the sub-task force answers to an experienced middle-class air force officer and is equipped with modern weapon systems and manned by well-prepared personnel," Achmadi stated.

He said the Airspace Security Law Enforcement Sub-Task Force works to fortify security in the airspace area designated as the operation zone by mobilizing strategic instruments, including missiles, radars, and drones.

Elaborating on the Air Mobilization Sub-task Force, he said it coordinates the deployment of heavy transport aircraft and helicopters, with the objective of facilitating the distribution of logistics and mobilization of soldiers.

"Meanwhile, the Special Air Services Sub-task Force is tasked with providing reconnaissance data and information from high altitudes using technology," he explained.

He then assured of the preparedness of the Special Air Services Sub-task Force to function optimally to contribute to the security of the two international events in Bali.

The 2nd IAF, themed " Bandung Spirit for Africa's Agenda 2063," is being held in Bali on September 1-3 in conjunction with the 2024 HLF MSP that adopts "Strengthening Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships: Towards a Transformative Change" as its theme.

Indonesia is aiming to make the most of the two occasions to promote cooperation in economic transformation, energy, mining, food resilience, health, and development.

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the 2nd IAF is drawing participation from over 1,400 delegates, including heads of state, ministers, business actors, and academicians.
