"Let us maintain the conducive situation. We need stability to grow and carry out development. Let us ensure there is no turmoil until the next government is formed," he remarked while presiding over the Plenary Cabinet Session at the Garuda Palace in IKN Nusantara on Friday.
In his opening remarks, President Jokowi urged to maintain economic stability during his remaining term and called on ministers and other officials to maintain the people's purchasing power.
In connection with this, he also urged them to control the inflation rate and boost economic growth.
In addition, he called on them to maintain security and order and not issue "extreme" policies that may directly impact the community.
"Do not make extreme policies, especially those related to people's lives, which have the potential to harm the wider community and eventually cause turmoil," President Jokowi remarked.
The Onward Indonesia Cabinet ministers present at the plenary session comprised Defense Minister and President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, who is also contesting for the Jakarta Governor's seat.
Earlier, on Thursday (September 12), Jokowi called on the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) officers to support the transition of the next administration and maintain the stability of the country.
"I urge the TNI and Polri to maintain stability. Please fully support the transition of government. The government that I lead will be continued by a new administration led by President-elect Prabowo Subianto," he stated at the IKN State Palace.
In his final month of presidency, Widodo has begun working at the new capital, Nusantara, on Thursday (September 12) and will continue to do so until October 19, 2024.
