President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), on Friday, officiated the Nusantara Swissotel and broke ground for the Nusantara Duty-Free Mall in Nusantara Capital City (IKN), East Kalimantan Province.
"I would like to convey my utmost appreciation for the success in developing the Nusantara Swissotel within nine months," he remarked during the hotel's inauguration in his secretariat's video accessed from Jakarta.
He admitted to being amazed by the feat of Indonesian property giant Agung Sedayu Group in completing a tall challenge of erecting a 191-room five-star hotel within less than a year.
Jokowi further remarked that the government had been pursuing the development of essential public facilities in Indonesia's future seat of government to create a vibrant urban ecosystem.
"Our main focus here is to build a crowd by creating a busy urban ecosystem bustling with people, hospitals, schools, hotels, and malls. However, it takes time to realize this challenging objective," he pointed out.
