Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) has officially announced three pairs of candidates for the 2024 Regional Head Elections.

Wahyu Dinata, the head of the Jakarta KPU, confirmed that Pramono Anung and Rano Karno, Ridwan Kamil and Suswono, as well as independent candidates Dharma Pongrekun and Kun Wardana, will be running in the election.

This decision follows the guidelines outlined in KPU Decision 125 of 2024.

Dinata also shared that on September 23, the KPU will hold a drawing to assign ballot numbers to the candidates, and that the commission will host three televised debates starting on October 6, with each session lasting around 150 minutes.

Astri Megatari, the head of the KPU’s voter education division, reminded that each candidate pair can bring campaign members to the drawing and other events.

She also urged voters to remain logical and avoid falling for misinformation during the campaign season.
