"The access is okay. The food and accommodation are good," Agus Fitriadi, an athlete representing Papua Province in the men's wheelchair tennis at Manahan Stadium, stated here on Saturday.
Fitriadi, who has competed in four editions of the ASEAN Para Games and four editions of Peparnas, said that the Peparnas committee has provided excellent facilities for athletes.
He added that the well-maintained infrastructure at the venue had made it easier for athletes to prepare and train for the competition. In 2022, the ASEAN Para Games was held at the same venue.
Meanwhile, North Kalimantan para-weightlifter Lukas Ling also gave a positive response.
He noted that the 2024 Peparnas athletes were provided comfortable accommodation and sufficient food.
"The transportation is also smooth and very good," Ling, who appeared in the Peparnas 2021 in Papua, said.
The North Kalimantan para-weightlifting team was also impressed with the weightlifting training facilities provided there.
According to the North Kalimantan weightlifting team official, Zakaria, his team's athletes made the most of the facilities to sharpen their abilities.
"Our preparation in North Kalimantan is less than a month. Hence, as soon as we arrived here on Wednesday (October 2), we practiced again because the equipment is more complete," Zakaria said.
Peparnas 2024, which will be held on October 6-13, is attended by more than 4,300 athletes and officials from 35 provinces in the country.
This year's National Paralympic Games feature 20 sports, including para-archery, para-athletics, para-badminton, boccia, para-chess, and para-bicycle racing.
The 2024 Peparnas committee has ensured that all athletes' food intakes are in accordance with the nutritional standards and are supervised by experts.
