Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Youth and Sports Ministry and the Indonesian Gymnastics Association (Persani) launched the official logo of the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, which will take place in Jakarta next year.

The logo features a stylized gymnast figure created by nine colorful, ribbon-like curved lines that combine to form three larger lines, outlining the shape of the figure, which resembles the number 53.

"One year from now, on October 14, 2025, to be precise, Indonesia will host its first Artistic Gymnastics World Championships," Persani chairperson Ita Juliati announced during the logo's launch at the ministry's building, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

She said that the newly unveiled logo represents the core elements of gymnastics, namely muscle strength and elegant moves.

Elaborating on the colors of the logo, she informed that the turquoise symbolizes the ocean, the terracotta points to Indonesia's fertile soil, and the pink reflects the hospitality of the Indonesian nation.

Furthermore, she informed that the international event, scheduled to take place from October 14–20, 2025, at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta, is predicted to draw participation from around 400 to 500 athletes from around 60 countries.

At the launch event, president of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), Morinari Watanabe, affirmed that the federation will make the most of the upcoming world championships to promote efforts to extend the life expectancy of senior residents.

He said that the FIG will apply a new concept for the championship to ensure that the event not only entertains people, but also contributes to their health.

If successful in Indonesia, the concept will be used as a blueprint for the subsequent edition of the tournament in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in 2026, he informed.

Secretary of the Youth and Sports Ministry, Gunawan Suswantoro, and chairperson of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), Raja Sapta Oktohari, also attended the launch ceremony.
