"On July 17, 2023, I was appointed the minister of communication and informatics. President Jokowi entrusted many essential tasks to me," Setiadi noted in his office's statement cited here on Saturday.
During a meeting with high-ranking officials of his ministry at his office in Central Jakarta on Friday (October 18), Setiadi remarked that the fulfilled mandates included the construction of 4G base transceiver stations to accelerate equitable digital infrastructure development across Indonesia.
Drawing attention to online gambling eradication as the second task, Setiadi noted that his side has taken various measures to slash the value of transactions affiliated with online gambling.
"I have been placing emphasis on efforts to protect the people from the adverse impacts of online gambling," he stated.

The minister also completed the third task of maintaining domestic peace and stability before, during, and after the 2024 General Elections by suppressing the spread of hoaxes and hate speeches, including in the digital space.
In this regard, he observed that narratives on peaceful elections disseminated by the government had been proven instrumental in preventing turmoil among members of the public, making this year's elections relatively more peaceful compared to the 2014 and 2019 editions.
Setiadi then elaborated on the fourth mandate, saying that the Communication and Informatics Ministry successfully dealt with a problematic fund of Rp3.5 trillion (around US$226 million) related to the Hot Backup Satellite project.
"I am a minister who managed to return money to the state," he emphasized.
He further underscored the need for the Ministry of Communication and Informatics to continue to work as a state institution that spreads optimism and convinces the nation that the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision is within reach.
