Jakarta (ANTARA) - Hungarian Ambassador to Indonesia Lilla Karsay has said that her country will seek to enhance cooperation in trade, technology, and education with the new Indonesian government led by President Prabowo Subianto.

"As we celebrate the 70th anniversary of our diplomatic relations in 2025, my hope is for even stronger Indonesia-Hungary relations, with enhanced cooperation in trade, technology, and education," Karsay, who attended the inauguration ceremony of Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, said here on Sunday.

The ambassador delivered the statement after the ceremony, which took place at the Parliament Complex here the same day.

She also conveyed her congratulations to Prabowo. "I extend my heartfelt congratulations to President Prabowo and the new Indonesian government," she said.

The new government's inauguration, she added, reflects the strength of Indonesia's democracy and the unity of its people. As President Prabowo begins his term, she wished him wisdom and success in leading the nation to greater progress, prosperity, and stability.

She said she is confident that this new chapter of the new government will bring continued growth and prosperity to Indonesia, both in the domestic and the international arena.

"Together, we can build on our shared values and deepen our partnership for the mutual benefit of our nations. I look forward to working closely with the new government to further strengthen the bonds between our countries," she added.

Prabowo and Gibran took the oath of office as President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024–2029 period at a plenary session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Sunday.

A total of 732 members of the MPR witnessed the swearing-in ceremony. The plenary session was also attended by national figures, political party leaders, and representatives of friendly countries.

The friendly countries that sent their envoys for the inauguration ceremony included Germany, Qatar, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Laos, Vietnam, Vanuatu, Brunei Darussalam, Timor Leste, Serbia, and China.

They further included Cambodia, New Zealand, the Solomon Islands, the Philippines, South Korea, Singapore, Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States, India, Jordan, Japan, Italy, Canada, France, Brazil, and Fiji.
