During an online discussion hosted by the Health Ministry on Friday, Satari noted that breast milk provides essential nutrition and benefits for a baby’s immune system.
"However, breast milk alone does not fully protect against specific diseases that can carry fatal risks," he remarked.
Satari emphasized the importance of the government’s complete vaccination program, recommending it as essential for the healthy growth and development of children.
He advised parents to ensure their children receive the polio vaccine, as polio can have serious consequences for children’s health.
"Polio can cause paralysis," Satari warned. "We’re already seeing cases in various regions."
Parents who follow the recommended polio vaccination schedule protect their children from severe illness and the high-risk complications of polio.
Satari cautioned, however, that while a complete vaccination program provides significant protection, it does not guarantee immunity from all viral infections.
He said that children vaccinated against polio may still contract the virus, though the risk of severe outcomes like paralysis or death is greatly reduced.
He added that vaccination weakens the virus, supporting children’s healthy growth and development.
