Jakarta (ANTARA) - State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi confirmed President Prabowo Subianto's attendance at the upcoming G20 and APEC summits in South America next November.

"We have received invitations for the G20 and APEC summits, and as the head of state, Prabowo will attend them," Hadi stated at the Presidential Palace complex here on Tuesday.

The APEC 2024 summit is scheduled to take place in Peru on November 10-16, while the 19th G20 Summit will be held on November 18-19 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The minister stated that while the president is abroad for global conferences, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka will temporarily preside over the government, as stipulated by law.

Hadi noted that President Prabowo will sign a decree assigning presidential duties to Gibran before his departure, reportedly taking place by next week.

While speaking at the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, on October 24, Foreign Minister Sugiono confirmed the president's attendance at the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro next month.

"Next month, the president will join the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, while I have been invited to participate in the expanded session of the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Fiuggi, Italy," Sugiono stated.

He affirmed that as a "bridge builder" between developing countries and the developed world, Indonesia is committed to increasing its presence in international forums, such as BRICS, and its dialogue with developed countries under Prabowo's presidency.
