During her visit to NTT's Kupang District, she inspected the Internet services provided by her ministry's Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) while greeting local residents.
"I am delighted to come here because no ministers (in the current administration) have visited this place. Thus, I believe that by being the first to come here, I will remain in your memories," she told the students of Public Junior High School (SMPN) 6 Amarasi.
Upon her arrival, the minister was welcomed by the headmaster of SMPN 6 Amarasi, Hendrik Arnold Mau. Students of the school then presented her with a typical woven cloth from the village of Amarasi.
Mau said that the Internet services offered by the central government have enabled his students and teachers to access digital services directly from the school.
He added that the teachers can now manage tasks that are integrated into the system of the Merdeka Curriculum, which requires Internet access, more conveniently.
The headmaster further informed that his students can also participate in the Computer-Based National Assessment (ANBK) without having to visit another school.
"Owing to the presence of the Internet network provided by BAKTI, we can finally conduct technology-powered learning activities. We used to find it difficult to adjust to the Internet-oriented Merdeka Curriculum. For the last one month, we can independently conduct ANBK here using the Internet," he said.
