Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka met with Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong at the Hutan Kota venue in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday afternoon.

Prime Minister Wong and his entourage arrived at the site at around 1:41 local time in a vehicle bearing Singaporean license plates, with the flags of Indonesia and Singapore hoisted in the front.

Upon his arrival, the Singaporean head of government was directly welcomed by VP Gibran and Indonesian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrmanatha Christiawan Nasir who had been waiting for about five minutes at the meeting venue.

"How are you?" Gibran asked Wong as the prime minister disembarked his vehicle.

The two leaders then chatted along the way to Tigadari Restaurant, where they held a brief closed-door bilateral meeting.

The Indonesian vice president left the venue at 2:20 p.m. local time, boarding an MV3 Limousine manufactured by state-run defense equipment manufacturer PT Pindad.

According to information received from his secretariat, VP Gibran concluded his meeting with Wong after being summoned by President Prabowo Subianto to a meeting at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta.

The vice president has delegated Deputy Minister Nasir to carry on the bilateral meeting with PM Wong at the restaurant.

Earlier, PM Wong was received by President Prabowo at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, at 9:50 a.m. local time.

The prime minister's trip to Indonesia is his third this year, whereas the meeting with the Indonesian head of state was his fourth throughout 2024.

Wong dubbed his ongoing trip to Indonesia as very special since it was his first official visit to the country following his inauguration as prime minister on May 15, 2024.
