Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Ministry/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) is seeking to implement One Spatial Planning to accelerate the integration of spatial planning and prevent data overlap across sectors.

Minister of ATR/BPN head Nusron Wahid said here on Friday that the spatial affairs management in the country is not well-integrated yet.

For instance, spatial planning related to national defense and security is managed by the Ministry of Defense, forestry spatial planning by the Ministry of Forestry, and non-forestry spatial planning by ATR/BPN, he expounded.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources manages spatial planning related to mining.

He said that to avoid potential problems that could arise in cross-sectoral management, the formation of a collective macro map is important.

"Sometimes, there is an overlap because each (ministry) manages its own micro zone, so (the overall condition) does not show in the macro zone. The idea of One Spatial Planning Policy is to unite the spatial system," Wahid explained.

According to director general of spatial planning at the ministry, Dwi Hariyawan, the One Spatial Planning Policy aims to realize fair, inclusive, and sustainable development.

He said that spatial planning must create a safe, comfortable, and productive space through fair policies that support the sustainable use of resources and unite the interests of various sectors.

"The ATR Ministry considers it necessary to transform spatial planning by carrying out the One Spatial Planning Policy concept," he added.

Hariyawan said that One Spatial Planning is an integrated approach that includes land, sea, air, and even underground soil.
