Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto was warmly welcomed by Indonesian citizens upon his arrival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Saturday, local time, to attend the G20 Summit.

According to a press release from the Prabowo Media Team, dozens of Indonesians greeted the President with bouquets of flowers.

Taruno Setianto, an Indonesian citizen from Central Java who has been living in Brazil for an extended period, expressed his delight at President Prabowo's presence at the G20 Summit.

"We are proud to welcome Mr. Prabowo as Indonesia's new President. I believe he will represent Indonesia well at the G20," he commented.

Mulki, another Indonesian citizen from Bogor, West Java, who has also been a long-time resident of Brazil, revealed that he waited nearly three hours to catch a glimpse of President Prabowo.

"We were thrilled to welcome President Prabowo Subianto, even though it was late at night," said Mulki, who was accompanied by his wife.

Mulki admitted to admiring Prabowo since 2014 and expressed confidence in his ability to address Indonesia's economic challenges both domestically and internationally.

"Hopefully, he can contribute significantly to solving global economic problems at the G20 Summit," he said.

Vina, another Indonesian, had the privilege of shaking hands with the President.

"It was an extraordinary opportunity to meet Mr. Prabowo in person and shake his hand," Vina said.
