"This is a vision of peace rooted in justice. Peace that recognizes the rights of all people. Peace where Palestine is free, where every Palestinian has the opportunity to live with dignity and determine their own destiny. This is the future we must fight for," he said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He delivered the remarks while addressing the Baznas International Forum, themed "Humanitarian Solidarity for Palestine and the Islamic World."
Nasaruddin observed that the Palestinians' suffering is not only a result of the recent conflict but also the outcome of decades of injustice.
"We must not forget that behind the news and the statistics, there are people with hopes, dreams, that have been shattered by violence," he said.
The minister urged the community to not only sympathize but also actively support the Palestinian struggle through concrete action.
"We must stand together, shoulder to shoulder, as citizens of the world, united in the belief that peace is possible. This is not a time for passive sympathy, it is a time for active support and collective action," Nasaruddin, who is also the Grand Imam of Istiqlal Mosque, said.
He emphasized the international community's moral responsibility to act, not just with rhetoric, but through meaningful action aimed at achieving peace.
Such action could include political advocacy, humanitarian aid, or efforts to resolve conflict.
"Each of us can contribute to healing the wounds of Palestine," he added.
"On behalf of myself and the ministry, I urge you, ladies and gentlemen, and the people of Indonesia to contribute to the welfare of our brothers and sisters in Palestine," he said.
At the event, Minister Nasaruddin also announced that Istiqlal Mosque has raised Rp10 billion from its congregation, which will be distributed through Baznas to help the Palestinian people.
