Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - Acting Governor of Bali Sang Made Mahendra Jaya visited a polling station (TPS) with an all-women organizing team belonging to Gen Z during the Regional Head Elections on Wednesday.

"This is a different (TPS). This is the first and only TPS with all Generation Z and women as the team, the security is also a policewoman," Jaya noted at the TPS 08 Banjar Kertasari polling station in Panjer village, Denpasar.

He observed that TPS 08 was cleaner than other polling stations. The team there had also prepared eco enzymes that were given out for free to voters who exercised their voting rights.

"I praise it because those who come (to vote) get the eco enzymes, which indicates concern for the environment. Like this, I believe that young people are already aware of democracy," he said.

Meanwhile, the secretary of TPS 08 Banjar Kertasari, Ketut Udi Prayudi, said that the polling station was a form of initiation as the organizing team were all women who belonged to Generation Z, with their ages ranging from 17–23 years.

The team consisted of seven voting organizing group (KPPS) members, four witnesses, one supervisor, two public order officers, and two police personnel.

"We initiated this so that young Balinese women can appear in our democratic and political processes," Prayudi said.

He expressed the hope that the young women who participated in the TPS 08 as the organizing team will emerge as future leaders.

"Hopefully, these young women, in the next 5–20 years, can become our leaders," he said.

The TPS 08 team, which consisted of all women, was also given a briefing and underwent simulations to ensure that they could carry out their duties.

"Most of them were only 17 years old, and we held a briefing for them about what the voting day is," he added.
