Jakarta (ANTARA) - Former general chairperson of Nahdlatul Ulama, Said Aqil Siradj, received a visit from representatives of Vietnamese company Alliex Co.Ltd. to discuss sustainable development and ways to improve relations between ASEAN countries.

The meeting, according to Siradj, was expected to be an important step toward the peaceful development of the ASEAN region from the perspective of ensuring harmony between economic development and cultural values.

"Let us realize a world without war, and building a path to peace is our shared mission," he said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Thursday.

The meeting discussed the shared vision regarding harmony between economic development and cultural values, he disclosed.

"I pay great attention to education, and many of my students study in various countries, including Korea and Japan. I welcome your visit," he told the representatives of the company.

For ASEAN development, it is very important to balance economic modernization with the cultural values of each country, Siradj said.

Meanwhile, the CEO of Alliex Co.Ltd., Park Byoung-gun, said that Indonesia is rich in resources, but the government has to face a number of challenges so that the community can enjoy these resources.

Park expressed strong support for cooperation between Asian countries and plans to further develop business in the ASEAN region by utilizing the values of each country.

"Our company aims to contribute to sustainable development in this region through technological innovation," he said.

Alliex Co.Ltd. is a company based in Vietnam and South Korea, which provides an integrated payment platform to simplify various types of transactions, such as bill payments, credit purchases, money transfers, and other payments.

In Indonesia, the company has also been active in building bridges between Indonesia and Japan through its support for the Sakuranesia education foundation.
