"We have handled the roads, rivers, and drinking water; for toilets, there is no problem," she said here on Sunday.
The Jakarta-West Java National Road Implementation Office of the Ministry of Public Works has also deployed 15 pieces of heavy equipment and 35 personnel to a number of locations.
She affirmed that her ministry is currently focusing on emergency handling to open access for the delivery of logistics, including fuels.
In addition to deploying heavy equipment to handle roads and the rivers, she stated that meeting the affected residents' needs for drinking water and sanitation is also important.
Currently, the ministry's emergency task force has carried out an assessment on the needs for facilities and infrastructure since December 4 and provided assistance, such as 3 units of portable toilets and 2 public water tanks with a capacity of 2,000 liters.
Furthermore, it has provided 1 unit of septic tank with a capacity of 1,000 liters and 4 units of tents.
In addition, it also provided 100 8-inch pipes with a total length of 504 meters to fix the local main water piping networks that were cut and stopped operating for three days.
Kusumastuti noted that because of riverbed sedimentation in Cipalabuhan River, the ministry's Citarum River Basin Authority carried out riverbed dredging to prevent overflow.
For the riverbed dredging spanning around 200 meters in the river, the Citarum River Basin Authority deployed one unit of excavator and a dump truck. It has also installed geobags with a length of around 100 meters to handle critical riverbank and overflow.
In addition, one unit of a mini excavator and a water pump have also been provided to help clean one community health center in Pelabuhanratu as well as to restore the flow of the Ciracas River, which is a tributary of the Cipalabuhan River.
Meanwhile, for other rivers, they will soon be handled under the collaboration of the provincial and district governments after the road access is restored.
