Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting archery to make history in the 2028 Olympics by providing requisite facilities.

"The ministry fully supports Indonesian archery to carve international-level achievement. We aim to ensure archery will make history in the 2028 Olympic," Ariotedjo said as quoted from the ministry's statement, Monday.

As one of the concrete forms of support, the government is currently building a training facility at the Cibubur Youth Elite Sport Center, which is designed for several sports, including archery. Minister Ariotedjo is optimistic that this facility will help Indonesian archers achieve maximum performance.

"Cibubur training center is being prepared for several sports, one of which is archery, that we all hope to clock international-level achievements," Ariotedjo remarked.

Minister Ariotedjo, who attended the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Indonesian Archery Association (Perpani) in Jakarta, Sunday (November 8), also expressed his appreciation for the organization's ambitious targets for next year.

The Indonesian archery team is scheduled to participate in several international events: Archery World Cup, SEA Games Thailand, Asian Youth Games and The World Games.

"We have to prepare this as early as we can. Once again, the government is committed to supporting Indonesian archery in achieving world-class performance," he remarked.

Chairman of Perpani, Arsjad Rasjid, emphasized the need for inclusive collaboration to achieve international success. He affirmed that support from all the stakeholders is key to moving Indonesian archery forward.

"Every party has its own role according to its duties and functions and provides the necessary support. To garner world-class achievements, mutual cooperation is needed," Arsjad emphasized.
