This is needed before the President can take office in the new capital in 2028, according to chief of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), Basuki Hadimuljono.
"When the order came to me, I had to complete the judicial and legislative ecosystems, and currently, the executive offices (are being built). So this year, we are preparing the ecosystem for judicial and legislative offices and residences," he said at the Presidential Palace here on Tuesday.
He informed that the offices and residences for executive institutions, including for the President and Vice President, ministers and ministerial-level officials, as well as heads of government institutions are being built, and are planned to be completed this month.
Meanwhile, the construction of offices and residences for judicial institutions, such as the Supreme Court and Constitutional Court, as well as legislative institutions, such as the House of Representatives (DPR), the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD), will begin in 2025 and is targeted for completion in 2027.
Hadimuljono further said that the buildings of the four coordinating ministries, Bank Indonesia, and the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry are almost complete, with furniture being installed.
Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, has revealed that President Prabowo Subianto is aiming to start working in Nusantara from August 17, 2028.
