"We do not want there to be any congestion or buildup during the Christmas and New Year holidays"
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has said that the Karawang high-speed railway station in West Java will be ready to serve the public during the year-end holidays.

He visited the station on Friday to make sure the project would be completed on time, as directed by President Prabowo Subianto during a meeting on preparations for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

"God willing, (the high-speed railway station) in Karawang will be ready on December 24 (2024)," VP Gibran informed in a statement.

He also assured of supporting facilities for private vehicle users, including the Gedebage Toll Exit in Bandung, West Java.

According to him, the government has prepared several temporary functional toll roads that are planned to be opened soon to support smooth public mobility during the long holiday.

"We do not want there to be any congestion or buildup during the Christmas and New Year holidays," he said.

Gibran invited all related stakeholders to prepare facilities and infrastructure for the Christmas and New Year holidays, especially at strategic points, by prioritizing security and safety aspects.

The preparations include optimizing the monitoring system so that the operation of all supporting facilities can run smoothly.
