During the National Development Planning Coordination Meeting for the 2025–2029 Medium-Term National Development Plan (RPJMN), he affirmed that prioritizing food and energy self-sufficiency is essential for Indonesia to stand on its own strength.
"It is important for me to convey this because our efforts toward food and energy self-sufficiency are the foundation of our sovereignty," he said.
Prabowo asserted that food self-sufficiency forms the fundamental basis for ensuring the safety and security of the people. Without sufficient food, he said, the country cannot guarantee the well-being of its citizens.
The protection of citizens aligns with the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution, he added.
"How can we protect the entire nation if we cannot guarantee food?" Prabowo noted. "There is no country and no civilization without food."
He emphasized the importance of safeguarding the country's natural and land resources.
He stated that national development targets can only be achieved if the government and all elements of the nation adhere to the principles of struggle and shared responsibility to protect and prosper the people.
Prabowo also addressed skepticism among some groups who doubt their own nation's capabilities.
He stressed that his administration is fully committed to building national sovereignty based on the mandate of the 1945 Constitution and the values inherited from the nation's founders.
"We have good intentions. We want to lead this nation with a clean government," he stated.
