According to a statement from the Press, Media, and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta, President Prabowo arrived at a hotel in Malaysia at around 7 a.m. local time.
Four Indonesian children dressed in traditional attire greeted him enthusiastically as he arrived in Kuala Lumpur.
"Thank you, thank you everyone. You all look great. Thank you for coming to greet me early in the morning," the president stated with a broad smile while responding to their welcome.
Indonesian students and residents in Malaysia appeared eager to meet the Indonesian head of state.
Fadil and Ziva, two junior and senior high school students, had even arrived at the location by 5 a.m. local time.
"I have been here since 5 o'clock to meet Mr. Prabowo and welcome him," Fadil remarked.
Ziva, although standing a bit away from the main crowd, also expressed her happiness at seeing President Prabowo in person.
"I am really happy, but we could not say hello because we were standing so far back. Just being able to see him makes me grateful," she stated.
Syafiq, an elementary school student who also attended the event, conveyed his excitement about meeting President Prabowo.
"I wanted to meet Mr. Prabowo because it is a holiday week here in Malaysia. I hope he would be a good president and reliable for everything he does," he remarked.
During his time in Malaysia, President Prabowo is scheduled to hold a limited meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in addition to participating in state events.
The president's visit to Malaysia not only strengthens diplomatic relations between the two countries but also serves as an opportunity to rekindle the spirit of nationalism among Indonesians living there.
