"President Prabowo's visit to Malaysia is expected to enhance diplomatic ties and strategic cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia across different sectors, benefiting the interests and progress of both countries," the Presidential Secretariat's release stated here on Monday.
According to the Presidential Secretariat's statement, President Prabowo Subianto was welcomed with a state ceremony at the National Palace in Malaysia on Monday, fulfilling an invitation from the King of Malaysia, the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim.
The welcome ceremony, which took place at the Peterana Diraja at around 10 a.m. local time, featured the national anthems of both countries, "Indonesia Raya" and "Negaraku."
The ceremony was marked by a 21-gun salute as a sign of honor.
Following the ceremony, President Prabowo, attired in a traditional Malay black beskap suit along with traditional cloth and a black peci hat, inspected the guard of honor that neatly lined up in the courtyard of the Palace.
After the inspection, the national anthems of both nations were played again, symbolizing the close friendship between Indonesia and Malaysia.
Once the state welcome ceremony concluded, President Prabowo, along with Sultan Ibrahim and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, entered the Palace to continue with the official agenda.
President Prabowo then signed the state guest book and introduced his delegation.
During this special occasion, Sultan Ibrahim conferred upon President Prabowo the Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati Pangkat Pertama (D.K I Johor), or The Most Esteemed Royal Family Order of Johor.
This distinction signifies the strong relationship and deep respect that the Kingdom of Malaysia holds for Indonesia.
