A group of Indonesian migrants was shot at by officers of the Malaysian Coast Guard (APMM) while allegedly attempting to exit Malaysia illegally on Friday (January 24) early morning, resulting in one death and injuries to four others.
Confirming the incident, the ministry's director for the protection of Indonesians, Judha Nugraha, stated that the victims were likely shot after resisting arrest by APMM officers when their boat was intercepted.
