The forum involved business leaders from both countries in building stronger alliances in various sectors, especially digital technology, e-commerce, manufacturing, clean energy, and health and pharmaceuticals.
Secretary general of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, Ismail, who attended the forum, said that the cooperation between the two countries is a real manifestation of efforts to achieve a highly competitive digital ecosystem on the global stage.
"Indonesia and India are two major economic powers with extraordinary digital potential. This CEO Forum is proof of our readiness to become influential major players in the development of world technology," he added in a statement released by his office on Tuesday.
He then emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership between Indonesia and India through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between his ministry and the Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
The MoU covers several sectors, namely developing artificial intelligence (AI) and new technologies; bolstering public digital infrastructure such as digital identity systems; building a digital ecosystem involving startups and business-to-business collaboration; and improving human resource skills in information technology.
"This MoU is a commitment to accelerate technology integration in both countries. Indonesia and India will be increasingly connected in various digital sectors, creating innovations to compete with world technology giants," Ismail informed.
Meanwhile, Special Staff to the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs for global partnerships and digital education, Raline Rahmat Shah, who also attended the event, said the forum was a momentum for both countries to accelerate the digital revolution.
"We cannot just be consumers of technology. Indonesia and India must become producers of innovation," she observed.
"With AI, IoT (Internet of Things), and industrial digitalization, we can create relevant solutions for the global market and make both countries new digital powerhouses in Asia," she expounded.
According to her, the forum is evidence of the solid economic relations between Indonesia and India.
With the increasingly close synergy between the business world and the government, digital innovation is expected to develop more quickly and have a real impact on the economic growth of both countries.
