At a press conference here at the State Palace, he informed that the President's directions also concern Presidential Instruction Number 4 of 2025 on National Integrated Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN).
Budi, who is a retired lieutenant general of the Indonesian Army, was inducted as the BSSN head by President Prabowo along with a number of heads and deputy heads of agencies at the State Palace on Wednesday.
His appointment was also stipulated in Presidential Decree Number 29 P of 2025.
"The BSSN has been urged to oversee data confidentiality, integrity, and availability so that the data can truly be used for implementing development going forward," he said.
Budi was earlier promoted to the post of the BSSN head by commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), General Agus Subiyanto, while he was still active as a high-ranking TNI officer.
The promotion was outlined in the Decree of TNI Commander Number Kep/1545/XII/2024, which was signed by Subiyanto on December 6, 2024.
However, less than a month later, the commander removed Budi's name because he was entering retirement age. The post was held by Hinsa Siburian until Budi's inauguration on Wednesday.
The retired lieutenant general has gained extensive experience in the field of intelligence during his career in the military.
He earlier served as chief inspector of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), director of mass communications at BIN, and expert staff to the Minister of Defense for politics.
