Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf said his side will coordinate data with KPAI, particularly focusing on supervision and protection of vulnerable children.
"We want to coordinate our data, especially when we start using DTSEN (National Social and Economic Single Data) as a common guidance for our work, and the first thing we need to do is make sure we have the same data about vulnerable children," Yusuf stated here on Tuesday.
In a press conference with KPAI at the ministry's office, Yusuf remarked that in addition to coordinating data on vulnerable children, he stated that the ministry and KPAI will share data on children involved in legal issues and those with disabilities.
KPAI Chairperson Ai Maryati Solihah expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts between the ministry and KPAI to bolster child protection in Indonesia.
Solihah expressed hope that the ministry will continue prioritizing child protection and safeguarding children's rights.
"We hope this step will be able to lead to better protection for children, especially child victims. We ask to keep prioritizing protecting them and making sure their rights are met," she affirmed.
Furthermore, during the meeting between KPAI and the ministry, discussions focused on the importance of assessing the quality of human resources, infrastructure, and facilities used by LKS in child protection.
According to Solihah, numerous LKS that are currently operating lack adequate resources, necessary certifications, or standard facilities.
"In 2025, the ministry will fix this based on data and the roadmap that we have prepared together," she remarked.
