Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid said that during a meeting with Minister of Manpower Yassierli, her ministry agreed to provide instructors for training programs held by the Ministry of Manpower.
"We are a union of two forces. The Manpower Ministry has many training centers, and we have instructors working together with stakeholders," she stated on Friday.
However, both ministries still need to determine the appropriate number of digital talent training programs for each industrial sector.
Hafid said that her ministry will support the development of digital talent by equipping individuals with technological skills and an understanding of digital advancements, in line with industry needs.
"I am pleased that the Minister of Manpower also cares deeply about digital competencies for our future workforce," she added.
Meanwhile, Yassierli said that the training will be carried out in stages at the Ministry of Manpower's 21 job training centers.
He noted that digital talent training to meet industry needs will also be adjusted based on data from relevant associations.
"First, the Ministry of Manpower will map out industry needs, and we will also collaborate with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and the Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo)," he added.
Yassierli disclosed that at least 44 digital competencies are currently in demand by the industry.
He provided examples of some key competencies, including digital security, programming, and the Internet of Things.
He expressed confidence that the number of digital skills required by the industry will continue to grow with technological advancements.
