The scholarships are valued at a total of around Rp440 million, or around US$26,900.
The scholarship is provided in the form of training under the IAEA national project INS6022 titled “Expansion of Radiation Medicine in Indonesia."
Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Dede Djuhana, stated at the UI Campus here on Saturday that this program aligns with the efforts to transform the health sector initiated by the Indonesian Ministry of Health.
One of the main aspects of the national health transformation is the development of oncology centers spread across all provinces, aimed at improving the quality of health services, particularly in providing cancer treatment.
“We fully understand that the development of nuclear medicine technology requires qualified and competent experts. Therefore, through this program, we want to produce medical physicists who are excellent and ready to support optimal health services for the public,” Djuhana stated.
Recipients of the scholarship are students Asyifa Khoerunnisa, Fulki Fiarka Djoni, Parinza Ananda, Hany Yuliati, Jenni Natalia Corebima, Hendra Himawan, Rosa Desinta, Abdurrahman Aziz Wicaksono, Aulia Firma, Antonius Fajar Adinegoro, and Rohma Novitasari.
The training program will take place over eight months, from February to September 2025, and will be held at various nuclear medicine centers in Indonesia.
During this training, students will be trained in clinical practice skills, such as calibrating nuclear medicine equipment, calculating internal radiation doses for nuclear medicine patients, ensuring the quality of nuclear medicine equipment, and radiation protection and safety in nuclear medicine.
