He said that the collaboration must be accompanied by the transfer of technology and the transfer of knowledge so that AI development in Indonesia can be realized optimally.
"This will allow Indonesia and other developed countries to actively participate in global AI supply chains, not only as users or markets," he explained in a statement received here on Wednesday.
He highlighted the importance of building an inclusive ecosystem for AI development, which can be achieved through collaboration between platforms.
In addition, it is essential that the collaboration be focused on empowering public capacity development so that the ability or skill to master AI lies not with certain parties but with more and more digital talents.
He noted that so far, Indonesia has taken several steps to advance the development of the AI ecosystem. One noteworthy step is Indonesia becoming the first country in Southeast Asia to complete the UNESCO AI readiness assessment report.
However, he said, further steps are still needed to ensure that the development of Indonesia's AI ecosystem rate is in line with the national digital transformation road map.
One of the things that need to be prepared is a bigger investment in infrastructure development as well as AI development governance.
"This includes improving cybersecurity, expanding data centers, and ensuring access to affordable computing. These efforts will be necessary to unlock the full potential of AI for our nation's culture," he added.
