Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) considers the establishment of Indonesian sovereign wealth fund Danantara to be a positive development and hopes to collaborate with it in the future.

"There are many opportunities, and with Danantara, investments can be centralized, and therefore, efficiency can be achieved. We are looking forward to collaborate," Kadin Chairperson Anindya Novyan Bakrie said at the Presidential Palace complex here on Friday afternoon.

Bakrie, along with other representatives of Kadin and several conglomerates, attended a meeting led by President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace complex.

The businesspersons invited by President Prabowo included Andi Syamsuddin Arsyad, Tomy Winata, Chairul Tanjung, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, James Riady, Prajogo Pangestu, Garibaldi Thohir, Sugianto Kusuma, Hilmi Panigoro, Franky Oesman Widjaja, and Anthony Salim.

Bakrie affirmed Kadin's commitment to supporting the government.

"Kadin focuses on the business world, how to eradicate poverty, and achieve eight percent economic growth. The government and Kadin need to work together better," he said.

He added that the government and the business world must consistently work together, especially amid the current uncertain global climate.

"This uncertainty is largely due to external factors. So, domestically, we must be solid. Kadin encompasses (business) players and stakeholders in the regions, including entrepreneurs and companies," he said.

He added that his side will listen to the President's guidance, advice, and input.

"Several businessmen also attended the meeting. We will create a healthy climate (of investment) with good legal certainty," Bakrie said.

In addition to business actors, the meeting was also attended by Danantara's top executives, including chief executive officer Rosan Roeslani, chief investment officer Pandu Sjahrir, and chief operating officer Dony Oskaria.
