Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto's gesture of escorting the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, to the air base before his departure exemplifies Indonesia's commitment to hospitality.

In the Presidential Secretariat statement received here on Tuesday, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media Yusuf Permana stated that President Prabowo aims for state guests visiting Indonesia to depart with a profound impression of Indonesia.

Consequently, all arrangements for the state guests' welcome and farewell were meticulously planned to ensure a memorable experience.

"President Prabowo wants to create a deep impression of Indonesia, which is full of hospitality, to Secretary General To Lam and Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly, as well as the people of Vietnam during this inaugural visit," Permana stated.

To Lam’s visit to Indonesia from March 9 to March 11 was particularly significant, as it aligned with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Indonesia and Vietnam.

Consequently, the series of welcoming events for the state guest this time was festive, featuring posters, billboards, and videos displayed along the protocol routes in Jakarta.

The celebration continued with a welcome by school students and a memorable state ceremony when Secretary General To Lam visited the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

Permana expressed hope that this moment would serve as a means to strengthen the increasingly robust relations between Indonesia and Vietnam.

Besides marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Vietnam, this visit was To Lam's first visit to Indonesia since assuming his role in August 2024.

To conclude To Lam's visit to Indonesia, President Prabowo Subianto personally bid farewell at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta on Tuesday.
