During the meeting held at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday, Prabowo noted that enhancing cooperation would further strengthen the ties between the two countries, which were established in 1955.
"This year should be considered an excellent momentum to elevate our relationship to a higher level—to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership," he said.
While addressing the Vietnamese delegation, he emphasized that the two countries share similarities in their history and values, particularly in their struggles to defend independence and sovereignty against colonialism and imperialism.
Indonesia and Vietnam also share a common vision of achieving developed nation status by 2045.
"We want to improve the lives of our people. We want to eliminate poverty," he stressed.
Prabowo praised the resilience of the Vietnamese people, adding that Indonesia is pleased to have a strong relationship with Vietnam and is eager to enhance it further.
He also invited Vietnam to work together to achieve the shared goals of peace, stability, and prosperity for the benefit of both nations.
