This follows the government's appeal to private companies to implement WFA for their employees ahead of Eid to ensure smooth transportation during the holiday rush.
“Not all sectors can implement WFA, like in factories (in labor-intensive sectors), there must be considerations because they have clients, so their responsibilities must be fulfilled,” Bakrie remarked after the inauguration of the Kadin Indonesia management for the 2024-2029 term here on Friday.
However, he noted that service-based sectors may be able to implement WFA or flexible working arrangements (FWA) during the upcoming homecoming period.
“Service-based sectors may be able to manage it better, and productivity must be maintained because we are in the business world. We are open to helping to prevent congestion and accidents during the homecoming rush,” he stated.

The Ministry of Manpower had issued an appeal for private companies to apply WFA for their employees during this year's Eid exodus period.
The government has approved implementing forms of flexible work and WFA arrangements ahead of Eid, including for workers in government institutions, who will implement WFA from March 24 to 27, 2025.
Furthermore, Bakrie said he had spoken with Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi regarding implementing WFA and accelerating religious holiday allowance payments to workers.
“There were two points, (with the first being) the allowance payment acceleration and the second about WFA as the holiday starts on March 24, and people are advised to return home seven days prior," he stated.
