In a statement received here on Thursday, general secretary of PMI, A.M Fachir, stated that the mobile clinic is being run by at least 24 medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and laboratory technicians. Every day, the clinic treats about 150 patients, he informed.
He said that to ensure the best services, the mobile clinic has been fitted with several medical devices, such as ultrasonography (USG) equipment, blood test kits, and pediatric care tools. He added that the most frequently provided treatments range from antenatal to pediatric care.
According to Fachir, North Gaza residents are facing life-threatening diseases and emergencies, and the lack of medical facilities is worsening the condition.
He said he expects the mobile clinic to help Gaza residents receive medical checks and treatment in an effective and efficient manner.
PMI, Lifebuoy, and Pepsodent Indonesia have committed to providing medical assistance to those in need for as long as there is support to conduct such initiatives and emergencies to tend to, he added.
Fachir said that some local residents have expressed their gratitude for the prompt provision of medical services amid difficult times.
"The medical aid is very valuable, especially during tough times like this. I can get check-up and monitor my health without having to wait for too long," an unnamed patient said.
Another resident, a man, brought his child to the clinic to get treatment for fever. He said that the clinic delivered immediate treatment, and he was grateful for the initiative.
