Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga (Persero) registered 955,923 vehicles leaving Greater Jakarta from D-10 to D-5 of the 2025 Eid al Fitr, or March 21–26, 2025.

"This is the cumulative figure for traffic flow from the four main toll gates (GT), namely the Cikampek Utama GT (toward Trans Java), Kalihurip Utama GT (toward Bandung), Cikupa GT (toward Merak), and Ciawi GT (toward Puncak)," Jasa Marga corporate communication and community development group head, Lisye Octaviana, said on Thursday.

According to her, the total volume of traffic leaving the Greater Jakarta area reflected an increase of 1.5 percent compared to 941,496 vehicles recorded in the same period of last year. Compared to normal traffic (845,998 vehicles), the figure showed a 13-percent increase.

Her party recorded 469,762 vehicles (49.1 percent) headed east (Trans Java and Bandung), 284,373 vehicles (29.7 percent) headed west (Merak), and 201,788 vehicles (21.1 percent) headed south (Puncak).

Octaviana informed that on D-5 of Eid or March 26, a total of 192,244 vehicles were recorded leaving Greater Jakarta from the four main toll gates, up 42.8 percent from normal traffic (134,660 vehicles).

Her party also noticed a significant increase in traffic flow toward the east, especially Trans Java and Bandung from the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on March 26, with the total number of vehicles reaching 78,363, an increase of 191.1 percent from normal traffic (26,917 vehicles).

Meanwhile, a total of 33,300 vehicles were recorded at the Kalihurip Utama Toll Gate, an increase of 18 percent from normal traffic (28,221 vehicles).

She informed that the peak of Eid homecoming flow is predicted to occur on March 28. She urged toll road users to avoid traveling during peak hours and favorite times, such as in the morning and evening.​​​​​​​

Jasa Marga has asked travelers to ensure vehicle and driver readiness, sufficient fuel, electronic money card balance, and anticipate the implementation of traffic engineering, which is being carried out at the discretion of the Indonesian Police.
