The airport's assistant deputy, communication and legal affairs, M. Holik Muardi, said that the peak of Eid air travel is expected on Friday.
"The peak of the homecoming flow for tomorrow is estimated at 184 thousand passengers, who will arrive and depart via Soetta Airport. For yesterday alone, the number was around 167 thousand passengers, which is higher than our forecast data," he informed here on Thursday.
According to Muardi, the average number of passenger movements at Terminals 1, 2, and 3 per day is currently evenly distributed due to the opening and transfer of a number of domestic airlines to Terminals 1 and 2.
"The total number of passengers at Soetta Airport alone during the Eid transportation period is 3.9 million, this is indeed 7.9 percent higher than in 2024. We hope that everything will run smoothly and well during this period," he said.
In preparation for the peak flow of Eid homecoming, he added, the operator of the Soetta Airport has prepared more than 7 thousand joint personnel to remain on standby at the flight service terminals.
"The personnel are 7 thousand officers who work every day, such as Avsec, as well as customer service and ATC. We also get assistance from the Soetta Airport Police to increase personnel in public areas," he said.
In addition, the Ministry of Transportation has checked the readiness of passenger transportation services at Soetta Airport.
