The aid package, weighing 124 tons and valued at Rp20.89 billion, comprises ready-to-eat meals, medicines, health equipment, and other basic needs such as blankets and emergency tents.
"As instructed by Mr President, Indonesia sends its assistance to our brothers and sisters (in Myanmar), and it is also part of the aid we sent on March 31," Foreign Minister Sugiono, representing President Prabowo Subianto for the send-off ceremony, stated at Jakarta's Halim Perdanakusuma Airfield.
Sugiono also called the Indonesian delegation to maintain safety and coordinate efficiently with the local authorities to ensure prompt and successful implementation of the humanitarian mission.
During the send-off ceremony, the minister inspected the prepared logistics and personally greeted the officers who joined the mission in Myanmar.
The assistance was collected from the Agriculture Ministry, Health Ministry, National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), Indonesian Red Cross, National Alms Agency (Baznas), and private humanitarian organizations.
Two cargo planes transported the 124-ton aid, while 65 Indonesian personnel deployed for the humanitarian mission in Myanmar boarded a chartered Garuda Indonesia 747 jumbo jet on Thursday.
The flights will have a stopover in Banda Aceh before proceeding to Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar.
The aid on Thursday followed the first humanitarian aid delivery, a 12-ton emergency aid transported by the Indonesian Air Force's C-130J-30 Super Hercules aircraft, which arrived in Myanmar on Monday (March 31).
The second delivery, which followed on Tuesday (April 1), consisted of logistics assistance of 20 units of utility tents, blankets, sarongs, and ready-to-eat meals from the Defense Ministry, additional logistics from the BNPB, and an operational truck from the National SAR Agency (Basarnas).
Also joining the April 1 aid delivery flight were 39 personnel from various ministries and agencies, forming an advance team for Myanmar, who were flown in on the same C-130J-30 aircraft.
