Those priority sectors include food security, energy security, downstream processing, digital infrastructure, healthcare, and tourism.
Indonesia and Qatar have agreed on a joint investment commitment of US$4 billion, with each country contributing US$2 billion.
"The investments align with Indonesia's (priorities). If we look at the themes, we see food security, energy security, downstream, digital infrastructure, healthcare, and the promising hospitality sector," Sjahrir stated during a doorstop interview at the Main Hall of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) here on Monday.
The CIO noted that this joint investment commitment is distinct from Qatar's previous investment in Indonesia's housing sector, which Housing and Settlements Minister Maruarar Sirait had highlighted.
Sjahrir stated that President Prabowo Subianto's visit to Qatar resulted in a joint commitment between the two countries.
"Mr. Prabowo spoke with Qatar about investment to establish a joint investment fund worth US$4 billion, which comprises US$2 billion from them and US$2 billion from us. The projects will be developed in Indonesia," he elaborated.
President Prabowo made this statement after attending the CEO Forum meeting in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday (April 13). This meeting was initiated by the Chair of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Anindya Bakrie.
He emphasized that this commitment is a follow-up to Indonesia's economic diplomacy efforts and a positive signal from Qatar regarding the increasingly close cooperation between the two countries.
"The meeting went productive. We agree to increase cooperation, and they will invest together with Danantara," he remarked.
