"The Mobile Brigade (Brimob) of the Greater Jakarta Police has placed eight company-level units on standby for riot control as part of our contribution to securing the forthcoming international conference," Brimob Commander Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto noted in a statement here on Monday.
He noted that Jakarta Brimob had also readied two-wheeled vehicles, bomb disposal personnel, and specialized vehicles, including Barracuda armored personnel carriers and armored water cannon trucks.
Maryanto remarked that his brigade also conducted a tactical simulation on Sunday (May 11) to enhance preparedness and effectively respond to potential threats to public order and security.
The commander assured the public that all assigned officers are fully prepared to carry out their respective tasks and responsibilities.
"Our brigade is fully committed to preserving national stability and security, especially during international forums like the 19th Session of the PUIC Conference," he affirmed.
The building of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) is set to host the 19th Session of the PUIC Conference, which brings together parliamentarians from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

In a statement released on Saturday (May 10), DPR Speaker Puan Maharani highlighted that Indonesia is ready to organize the event and views it as a valuable opportunity to reaffirm the nation's leadership in championing a democratic, inclusive, and solution-driven diplomacy for the Muslim world.
She highlighted that the conference theme, "Good Governance and Strong Institutions as Pillars of Resilience," aims to remind OIC states that the strength of the Muslim world is rooted in clean, transparent, and robust governance.
The 19th Session of the PUIC Conference is expected to draw around 500 participants from OIC members and observer states.
