This includes collecting data on damages and distributing assistance to the affected residents.
"The president has instructed the BNPB head to promptly inspect the situation on the ground. The quick response team has been deployed to the affected areas," BNPB's Head of Disaster Data, Information, and Communication, Abdul Muhari, stated during a press conference here on Friday.
As of Friday afternoon, no fatalities or injuries were reported. However, the earthquake damaged 140 houses and several public facilities in Bengkulu City, Central Bengkulu District, North Bengkulu District, and Seluma District, with damages ranging from minor to severe.
"Two schools, one mosque, one sub-district office, and one meeting hall were damaged," he remarked.

To support initial relief efforts, BNPB distributed the first-phase logistical assistance, including 200 packages of staple goods, 50 tents, 100 blankets, 100 mattresses, and ready-to-eat food. An evacuation tent and a command post tent were also set up at the affected site.
"This emergency measure is taken while waiting for the results of a rapid assessment in the field. If necessary, a public kitchen and additional evacuation posts will be set up," he remarked.
He affirmed that the local government and the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) have deployed teams to the affected areas and set up posts at critical locations.
The BNPB appealed to the community to remain alert for possible aftershocks and to avoid spreading unverified information.
