“Until now, there has been no discussion,” Nasbi told reporters on Monday.
He said the proposal—submitted by the Indonesian Civil Servant Corps (Korpri)—remains a topic of discourse and has not progressed to formal deliberation.
Nasbi emphasized that it is legitimate for such proposals to be raised and considered but stressed that the government must weigh various factors, including succession and regeneration within the ASN workforce.
“In the future, the government must prepare a new generation of qualified civil servants to lead and manage the country,” he said.
Nasbi also suggested that Korpri consult with Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, both of whom sit on Korpri’s Advisory Board.
“Matters related to age limits and appointments of ASN fall under the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform,” he added.
Earlier, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, Chairperson of the Korpri Management Board, said the organization had officially submitted the proposal to the President, the House Speaker, and the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform.
He explained that the proposed increase is intended to support the skills development and career advancement of civil servants.
“I see that life expectancy is increasing, so it is reasonable to raise the retirement age limit for ASN, both in structural and functional roles,” Fakrulloh said.
