During his visit to several service points there, he supervised the services provided by Hajj officers to Indonesian pilgrims.
Speaking in Mina on Sunday, Syafi'i said that 90 percent of Hajj officers had carried out their tasks well, while the rest experienced fatigue and needed rest.
Regarding the situation at Jamarat, where several pilgrims got lost while carrying out the stoning of the devil ritual and found the Hajj officers uneasy, he highlighted the importance of coordination between the Indonesian government and the authorities of Saudi Arabia.

"We must establish a good communication between the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the ambassador, and the government of Saudi Arabia so that our officers are not treated like common pilgrims," he said.
Furthermore, he noted that special signs for the officers are needed so that they can carry out their tasks smoothly. According to him, treatments for officers in the field were not yet uniform.
"This must be a recommendation for the next years," he said.
Meanwhile, regarding several technical issues, such as the late transportation to Arafat, Muzdalifah, and Mina, the deputy minister stressed the importance of making a thorough improvement.
"What happened today must be fully evaluated; almost everything," he said.
For the 2025 Hajj season, Indonesia received a quota of 221 thousand Hajj pilgrims. Meanwhile, the number of Indonesian Hajj officers was capped at 4,420 after Saudi Arabia granted an additional quota of 2,210.
