According to Director General of Livestock and Animal Health at the ministry Agung Suganda, the supervision was carried out to ensure that the distribution and slaughter processes had been in accordance with rules and animal welfare principles.
"We must ensure that the sacrificial animals were healthy, slaughtered correctly, and the beef was safe for consumption," he said in a statement received here Sunday.
He ensured that the processes ran in accordance with the animal health and welfare principles.
This year, the supervision focused on the checking of animal health certificates, ante-mortem and post-mortem inspection, slaughter sites' legality, and guarantees of Veterinary Public Health and Animal Welfare.

The Ministry of Agriculture has ensured that the stocks of sacrificial animals were sufficient. Based on its projections, the total number of animals available was recorded at 3,217,397 while the national needs were estimated to reach 2,074,269.
In addition to the sufficient availability, the animal health and welfare aspects are also prioritized so that the available sacrificial animals meet the Sharia and health requirements, he remarked.
President Prabowo Subianto has donated 985 sacrificial cattle for communities to celebrate the 2025 Eid al-Adha that fell on Friday (June 6).
Earlier on Thursday (June 5), Deputy Minister of State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro told journalists that some of the sacrificial animals would be distributed to the community through regional governments.
According to him, donating sacrificial animals is a way to empower livestock farmers in the country. This year, the central government purchased the sacrificial animals from 573 farmers from various regions.
