Jazuli Juwaini, a member of Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR), stated that Israel has become a source of global instability and chaos.
“After decades of colonization, occupation, and crimes against humanity in Palestine, Israel is now expanding its aggression to countries such as Lebanon, Syria, and Iran,” he said in a statement issued on Saturday.
Juwaini, who also serves as Indonesia’s permanent envoy to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) for Middle East affairs, said the recent Israeli attack on Iran—reportedly resulting in dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries—demonstrates that the country has no intention of pursuing peace.
“Israel is deliberately spreading chaos and blatantly disregarding international law,” he stated.
He criticized the international community's failure to act decisively.
“Does Israel have the right to kill arbitrarily, while others are expected to simply accept being attacked?” he asked.
Juwaini also condemned what he described as global hypocrisy, citing support from “elite world leaders” for Israel’s actions, which he likened to colonization and genocide.
“This is a glaring and embarrassing hypocrisy for modern civilization,” he said.
He noted that the world’s frustration is evident in the global protests and solidarity movements, including the Global March to Gaza beginning June 15, which is expected to draw tens of thousands of participants from various countries.
Juwaini urged Muslim-majority nations and international institutions to unite and increase pressure on Israel to end its aggression and be held accountable for its actions.
He also called for diplomatic, legal, economic, and political measures, including international sanctions, prosecution for violations of international law, and the deployment of UN peacekeeping forces to disarm Israeli troops.
