Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Danantara Indonesia Investment Management Agency will provide Rp130 trillion for the subsidized housing program implemented by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (Kemen-PKP).

Danantara’s chief executive officer (CEO), Rosan Roeslani, has spoken with banks in the Himbara group, as well as Bank Syariah Indonesia and Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN), to provide funding for the housing project carried out by the ministry.

“By the end of this year, we have calculated that we could reach Rp130 trillion, and of course, the scheme has been finalized, so it can be implemented immediately,” he said in a statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.

All parties must support this crucial housing project, which aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive.

“The banking sector is also delighted as they have secured collateral in the form of financed houses. We will also provide the financing with favorable interest subsidies, and the process will begin shortly,” Roeslani added.

Danantara has communicated with a team at the Ministry of Public Works and Housing to start discussions.

“Danantara will fully support this, but, of course, because the banking sector also has criteria that must be followed, we hope that this process will comply with the existing regulations,” he said.

The initiative is expected to greatly benefit the national economy and the people, he added.

“The public will certainly be pleased with the subsidized housing program initiated by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing,” he said.

“We will provide full support,” he added.

Meanwhile, Minister of Public Works and Housing, Maruarar Sirait (Ara), lauded Danantara’s full support for the housing project for the people.

Sirait informed that the secretary-general of the ministry, Didyk Choiroel, and BP Tapera Commissioner Heru Pudyo Nugroho will coordinate the support from Danantara.

“I have tasked secretary-general Didyk Choiroel and BP Tapera Commissioner Heru Pudyo Nugroho,” he said.
