Poland (ANTARA) - Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, has invited business actors from Poland to foster strategic and sustainable cooperation by investing in Indonesia’s cultural sector to help advance relations between the two countries.

“Investing in the cultural sector equals investing in the future. Indonesia’s culture and creative economy are among the most prominent drivers of our country’s growth, and we are ready to welcome partners from Poland to collaborate for this cause," he said in Poland on Thursday.

According to Zon, positioning culture as a strategic instrument for attracting investment could help both countries stimulate economic growth, generate new jobs, and promote innovations across sectors.

The minister then highlighted that Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia, supported by its demographic bonus and ongoing efforts to improve national digital connectivity.

He pointed out that the country’s creative economy sector, which is inseparable from its cultural heritage, contributes approximately US$80 billion to the national gross domestic product.

He noted that the growth of this sector has been primarily sustained by several sub-sectors: film, animation, fashion, traditional textiles, music, games, and cultural tourism.

Bearing this in mind, he called on Polish business players to collaborate in tapping the potential of the cultural sector through equal and sustainable partnerships.

He further underlined Indonesia’s investment appeal by highlighting the establishment of the country’s sovereign wealth fund, Danantara.

He described it as a professional body tasked with drawing capital into strategic sectors by reforming the investment environment.

“The presence of Danantara is expected to promote investment opportunities in a more structured and open manner. This body is also meant to facilitate initiatives that integrate cultures, technology, and inclusive growth,” he added.
