Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian embassy in Manama has issued an alert amid escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, urging Indonesians in the Kingdom of Bahrain to remain vigilant and immediately submit a self-report.

A letter shared on the embassy's social media account that ANTARA accessed here on Monday suggested that they submit their self-report through the Foreign Ministry's official website, www.peduliwni.kemlu.go.id.

They are also encouraged to follow updates from both the embassy and the authorities of Bahrain to stay informed.

At the same time, Indonesians are advised to also prepare essential documents, such as their passport, central population registry, and work contract, as well as download the Government of Bahrain's MyGov App on their cellphones.

Indonesians requiring consular service can visit the embassy between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon local time or contact the numbers: +973 3879 1650 and +973 3973 7478.

The Iran-Israel conflict escalated after Tel Aviv launched surprise attacks on Tehran's nuclear sites and military facilities on June 13.

In response to the attacks and the killing of several top Iranian officials, Tehran launched retaliatory strikes on Israeli targets on Friday evening, local time.

IRNA quoted a senior Iranian military official, General Ahmad Vahidi, as saying that the retaliatory strikes—known as Operation True Promise III—would "continue for as long as necessary."

The United States, which has been a staunch supporter of Israel for decades, joined the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday, June 22.

Amid the escalating war, the Indonesian government has conducted the first phase of its evacuation mission for Indonesian citizens in Iran and Israel.

A total of 96 Indonesian citizens along with the Iranian spouse of an Indonesian joining the government's evacuation mission left Tehran on Friday, June 20, for Baku, Azerbaijan.

After staying in Baku, the capital and biggest city of Azerbaijan, for two nights, they continued their trip to Jakarta by taking a commercial flight on Sunday, June 22.

The 97 evacuees had reportedly arrived in Jakarta on Monday, June 23.
