Sumedang, West Java (ANTARA) - Several ministers are scheduled to deliver presentations during the second batch of the National Retreat for Regional Leaders in Sumedang, West Java, according to Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto.

The ministers include Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of National Development Planning Rachmat Pambudy, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya, and Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Yandri Susanto.

Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the event on Tuesday, Sugiarto noted that the government had included real-time and current issues in the briefing materials for regional leaders, especially those concerning regional governance.

"Participants in the second retreat may be lucky, as they will be able to take notes on recent developments that can broaden their perspectives as regional heads," he stated.

He emphasized, however, that the core content remains consistent with that presented during the first batch.

"The substance of the materials is the same as those used in the first batch of the retreat," he added.

The briefing materials focus on the main functions and duties of regional leaders, President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita (eight primary missions), anti-corruption principles, and national insight.

Sugiarto highlighted that the central government intends to use the retreat to enhance regional governments’ capacity and ensure policy alignment with national priorities.

"This program is expected to deepen regional leaders' understanding of the president’s grand vision and accelerate the implementation of the Asta Cita," he said.

On Monday, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian opened the retreat, which brings together more than 80 regional leaders from provincial, district, and municipal governments.

He noted that the event, which runs through June 26, serves as a platform to foster national unity and a shared vision among regional officials.

"The main goal of this retreat is to consolidate and strengthen our values of unity as a nation and a state," he said in his opening remarks.
